Hidayatullah: A Bold Display Font That Elevates Campaign Typography

Choosing the Right Font for a Product Launch Campaign

I was prepping visuals for a tech product teaser when I stumbled upon Hidayatullah. The brief called for something futuristic yet grounded in cultural richness. The font immediately caught my eye with its Arabic-inspired curves and strong visual presence. As a designer working across Instagram, YouTube, and digital ads, I needed something that would pop on small screens while maintaining brand tone. Hidayatullah delivered a unique edge without compromising readability in key campaign assets.

Visual Style and Typographic Personality

Hidayatullah is a display font designed with expressive strokes and a rhythmic flow that hints at traditional Arabic calligraphy while embracing modern digital design. It's not just decorative—it carries a confident tone that works well for attention-grabbing headlines, brand labels, and short promotional text. The font’s wide spacing and open counters make it surprisingly legible for a decorative typeface, especially in social media headers and digital banners where visual impact matters more than dense readability.

Testing Hidayatullah in Real Campaign Contexts

I used Hidayatullah across multiple assets for a recent product launch:

It’s important to note that Hidayatullah isn’t a workhorse font. It thrives in short bursts—logos, campaign headlines, quote graphics—where its personality can shine without overwhelming the viewer.

Readability Considerations for Digital Campaigns

One of the first things I tested was how Hidayatullah performed on mobile. In fast-scrolling feeds, clarity is key. The font’s thick strokes and open forms held up well in:

That said, I avoided using it for body copy or long descriptions. It’s best reserved for headlines and visual accents. When designing for dark backgrounds, I found that a slight stroke or shadow helped maintain contrast without reducing legibility.

When Hidayatullah Might Not Be the Best Fit

While it’s a strong choice for short, impactful text, Hidayatullah isn’t ideal for:

If your campaign requires a font that can carry both headlines and body copy, consider pairing it with a clean sans serif or serif font for balance and versatility.

Font Pairing and Design Workflow Tips

In my design workflow, I paired Hidayatullah with Montserrat for body text and subheadings. The contrast between the bold, decorative headline and the minimalist sans serif created a modern, intentional hierarchy. It also helped maintain brand consistency across assets without feeling visually chaotic.

Other effective pairings could include:

Make sure to test how the font renders across platforms. I always preview text in both Photoshop and Figma, and do a quick export test in Canva for client templates.

Technical Notes and Licensing

Before using Hidayatullah in client work or commercial templates, check the licensing terms. Most premium display fonts allow for web and print use, but restrictions may apply for:

Also, verify what styles, ligatures, and alternate characters are included. Some display fonts come with multiple weights and language support, which can be a bonus for international campaigns or multilingual content creators.
